Please note: there are no disabled parking bays in the Telford Ice Rink car park. If you are using Google Maps Street View this will show disabled parking bays, however these are no longer present following the re-development of the Ice Rink.

Blue Badge holders are required to pay and display but are entitled to double time allowance. This car park is operated by The International Centre.

Stability aids

We currently offer a hired service of a penguin or snowman stability aid. These stability aids are designed in a way to be pushed across the ice and held onto to support balance.

  • Polar Bears are for those less than 1.1 metres.
  • Snowmen are available for those over 1.1 metres.

The cost is £5 per session.

Please note: Stability aids are on a first come first served basis only, and designed to support balance but may not prevent falls completely.

Sliders Skate Shop is located inside Telford Ice Rink and is open seven days a week.

We offer a skate sharpening and repair service on site so whether you want to dance on ice like your favourite TV star, play ice hockey or just enjoy ice skating you'll be ready to go.

Patch (Ice)

Patch ice time is suitable for individuals who are undertaking private lessons with our in house professional coaches. It is an ideal time to practice spins, jumps and dances for up and coming competitions.

Telford Ice Skating Club

Telford Ice Skating Club has been at Telford Ice Rink for over twenty five years and was set up by a group of parents and is run by a committee of volunteers working with the skaters, coaches and the rink. The aim for Telford Ice skating club is to promote Figure and Dance skating within the Telford area supporting new and existing members in learning and improving their skating skills.

Skaters range from young juniors who have just passed their Skate UK level 6 or Penguins level 9 to senior up to NISA level 10.

Skating lessons

Telford Ice Rink has a range of lesson courses from beginners to advanced figure and dance. Lessons are suitable from age 3 plus. Regular skating lessons courses consist of six half hour sessions held over a period of six weeks, with an assessment held on the final week.

Social skate

Social skate is a public skating session. This is the same as a public skate session but the duration is shorter and therefore this is reflected in the price.

NIHL Telford Tigers hockey training

Adult morning (lesson included)

Established in 1985, the Telford Tigers Ice Hockey Team currently have two teams competing in the National Ice Hockey League, with the D1 team competing in the Moralee Division and D2 team competing in the Laidler Division. The hockey season runs from September to April. The adult morning session takes place on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10am - 12.30pm during term time. The session is for skaters of any ability. It includes a 30 minute group lesson, where skaters are split according to their ability, and a voucher for a free hot drink and biscuits from the café.

Public skating peak and off peak

Public skating sessions are divided into two categories peak and off peak. Peak times are (evenings, weekends and school holidays) and off peak times (Monday - Friday daytimes and Wednesday and Friday early evening). Off peak sessions incur a reduced rate in comparison to peak sessions.

Wednesday student night

This session is in the mix! Expect commercial, indie, house and urban music - pumping out a variety of sounds. Student discounts available.

Tots on Ice

For under 5s who fancy braving the ice, during term time we offer tots their very own session aptly named ‘Tots on Ice’.

This is the perfect way to introduce your little ones to ice skating. There are toys and sledges on the ice and a skating coach on hand to offer advice. Adults and children can wear skates or shoes on the ice, although children are encouraged to wear skates as much as possible.

A young adults audience paves the way for a hard-hitting dance/skating session - "chill on the ice"

Saturday (Subzero)

Something for everyone - family fun - commercial and popular music feel. House lights on. - this session gets very busy!

With a family feel afternoon, chart music all afternoon, full house lights on. This session can get busy!
