Sportivate is a Sport England Scheme, which will fund a 6-8 week course of activity to engage young people aged 11 - 25 to take part in sport and physical activity. All projects will need to show clear links on how the project will sustain participation of those young people engaged after the 6-8 week course.

Telford and Wrekin Council works with and helps local communities to organise and deliver a range of sporting activities for young people in disadvantaged communities.
StreetGames is a sports charity that brings sport to the doorstep of young people. StreetGames is not just about participating but also taking up leadership and coaching roles.
The Council has recently been awarded StreetMark which has been designed to quality assure the provision of StreetGames activity. It embeds the minimum standards for quality community sport.

Applications open for local grant scheme to increase and improve sport and physical activity provision for people in South Telford.
The Telford and Wrekin Sport and Recreation Trust’s inaugural Focus Grant Scheme is open for applications from Monday 11 January 2016 until Friday 4 March 2016.*
A maximum of £1,000 can be applied for (per application form).

The scheme is open to applications from a variety of organisations including; voluntary organisations, registered charities, local councils and Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASC) among others.

The TESS is an initiative providing support and encouragement to the borough’s leading talented and elite sports performers. The scheme is supported by Telford & Wrekin Council Sports Development/Leisure Services and RICOH UK Products Limited.
The scheme aims to provide national level sports people with FREE access to the Council’s aspirations gyms for training and fitness. Facilities include:
The scheme is open to sports performers aged eleven years and over who currently perform, or compete in a sport recognised by Sport England at a national level and whose permanent home address is in Telford and Wrekin. It caters for sportspeople (including those with disabilities) who are:
Evidence or confirmation of a performer’s involvement at a national level will be required from the appropriate governing body of sport.
Selected individuals meeting the criteria will be granted membership to TESS which entitles the sports performer to utilise the Council aspirations gym facilities listed free of charge. It is hoped that TESS members will help promote and encourage other residents to increase their participation in sport and physical activity.
