Customer notice: Face Coverings

From Thursday 24 September 2020 we are asking our customers to wear face coverings in our centres at all times other than when actually taking part in physical activity.

We are asking that staff assist by reminding customers to wear face coverings. There are exemptions to who has to wear a face covering:

  • children under the age of 11 (Public Health England do not recommended face coverings for children under the age of 3 for health and safety reasons)
  • people who cannot put on, wear or remove a face covering because of a physical or mental illness or impairment, or disability
  • where putting on, wearing or removing a face covering will cause you severe distress
  • avoid harm or injury, or the risk of harm or injury, to yourself or others - including if it would negatively impact on your ability to exercise or participate in a strenuous activity.

Customer notice: Phoenix Sports and Leisure Centre re-opening from Monday 21 September 2020

The fitness suite, group exercise classes, sports hall and 3G pitch are re-opening at Phoenix Sports and Leisure Centre from Monday 21 September 2020.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) FAQs - Aspirations

Because we’re not automatically resuming all direct debits, to use our leisure facilities or to pre book online for any activities you will need to contact direct.debitadministrator@telford.gov.uk to resume your membership. This includes all direct debit memberships and pre-paid annual memberships.

If you would like to unfreeze your membership please email your name, address and membership number to direct.debitadministrator@telford.gov.uk.

Aspirations members will need to unfreeze their membership (see above) before booking a gym session.

We will allow customers to use the facilities on a Pay as you go basis, however, due to being unable to offer inductions at present we will only be allowing customers who have previously done this to continue to do this. We will review this as we move forward.

We recognise that we can’t provide our full Aspirations offer right now. So as a valued member, here are your options:

We won’t be automatically resuming any Direct Debits without your permission. Perhaps you’re still shielding, or you don’t feel too comfortable coming into the gym or a fitness environment right now? That’s okay, we appreciate everybody will make their own journey back. Take your time, we’ll be here and you can discuss your options by emailing direct.debitadministrator@telford.gov.uk.

If you’re keen to get back to it and are ready to resume your direct debit we will temporarily be reducing all our monthly membership prices by £5pcm. For example:

  • Standard membership per month:  £24.50
  • Corporate/concession per month:  £20.

Our pay as you go options will still be available at the normal price, you can find these prices here, you will need to pre book activities online or over the phone.

If you’re keen to get back to it and are ready to resume your direct debit we will temporarily be reducing all our monthly membership prices by £5pcm. For example:

Gym membership DD’s will remain frozen for those that don’t yet wish to use the facilities. DD’s will be reinstated once you return to the facilities.

You will be able to restart your membership when you feel ready to do so and the end date will be extended to cover the period it was frozen for. To unfreeze your membership please contact direct.debitadministrator@telford.gov.uk They will then contact you with your new expiry date.

The expiry date for resident TLC’s has been extended until the end of the year so you don’t need to worry about this. Non-residents who have elected to purchase TLC discounts will need to contact the centre direct to renew their cards.

TLC applications can be made online

Gloves are not permitted to be worn by customers in the facility.
