Customer notice: Coronavirus latest update

Due to the latest Government restrictions all of our Leisure Centres and Telford Ice Rink remain closed until further notice. Any customers who pay on a quarterly or annual cash basis will have their membership extended to compensate for the closure and will membership direct debits remain froze during this time. We are delighted that Horsehay Village Golf Centre, Telford Ski and Snowboard Centre will re-open under Government guidance from Monday 29 March 2021. Membership direct debits for these services will resume from this date.

If you are not ready to return just yet though, that’s not a problem. Please refreeze your membership.

I’m sure you can appreciate the situation we find ourselves in is constantly changing but we will keep you informed about our plans to re-open under Government guidance. Please make sure you are following us on Facebook and signed up to our email list to receive the latest news.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) FAQs - swimming

Yes until 17 May 2021 at the earliest you will need to book sessions for swimming and classes. Bookings can be made online.

Swimming Lessons will on Monday 19 April 2021. We will be in touch with swimming lesson customers in in due course in terms of what this means for them.

Strict control measures have been put in place to ensure our swimming pools comply with the Government and Swim England guidance.

Social distancing rules require us to proactively manage the number of participants at all times and record users of the facility. Booking activities will enable this and guarantee your space and prevent wasted visits.

A small number of activities do not lend themselves to social distancing or other guidelines and as such have not been included within the current programme. We will keep this situation under review in line with any changes to the guidance.

Customers are being asked to come ‘activity ready’, please have your swimming costume on underneath your clothing.

In accordance with the guidance we will be encouraging swimmers to spend as little time in the changing rooms as possible. Showers will be available for customers to wash off the chlorine only. Swimmers are encouraged to shower before arriving and at home afterwards. Facilities such as the hairdryers will not be available for use.

Lockers will be available in the changing rooms for swimmers and the small valuable lockers will be available for health and fitness users. For other activities customers will have to take any belongings with them. Coming ‘activity ready’ should reduce the amount of personal belongings. Make sure you have got a 20p coin for your locker – we will not be able to give you change from our reception desks.

Showers will be available for customers to wash off the chlorine. Swimmers are encouraged to shower before arriving and at home afterwards.

A maximum of one spectator per family is permitted. The spectator must be from the same household as one of the participants.

All swimming sessions have a maximum capacity, this varies according to the type of session. Double width lanes will be provided each of which can accommodate a maximum of 8 swimmers at any time.

Customers are asked to be respectful of other users. Whilst overtaking is not permitted we would ask swimmers to permit those swimming more quickly to safely pass them at the end of a length.

All swimming sessions have a maximum capacity, which varies according to the type of session. Customers will be asked to be mindful of each other and the social distancing rules and this will be managed by the lifeguards as with any other rule.

We would encourage members to cancel pre booked activities if they cannot attend, this will permit another member to book onto that activity. This can be done by accessing the online booking portal or by contacting the leisure centre by phone. For pay as you go customers, our usual cancellation policy applies (minimum 24 hours-notice) and refunds can be received by phoning the centre and cancelling.

We would ask that all members give 24 hours-notice for cancellations.

Yes, all swimmers must book online or over the phone a maximum of 3 days in advance, all slots become available from 7am each day.

If you need equipment such as floats or aids please bring these along with you, we will not be able to loan out any equipment.

Wide strokes such as butterfly are not permitted at the moment.
