The team are constantly reviewing closures in light of updates from central Government and Public Health England to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.


Leisure Centre closures
The following Leisure Centres are currently closed: Abraham Darby Sports and Leisure Centre, Newport Swimming Pool, Oakengates Leisure Centre, Phoenix Sports Centre, Stirchley Sports Centre, and Wellington Civic and Leisure Centre. These will be closed until further notice.


Horsehay Village Golf Course
Horsehay Village Golf Course is open along with the Footgolf course. The clubhouse and driving range will remain closed, including all toilet facilities. View more information.


Outdoor multi use game areas, skate parks and BMX tracks
From Saturday 23 May 2020, all outdoor multi use game areas, skate parks and BMX tracks will re-open in the borough. The opening of outdoor sport and leisure facilities are subject to residents following government guidelines regarding social distancing. View more information.

The athletics track in Oakengates will re-open from Tuesday 26 May 2020 on a pre-booked basis (online only). View more information.

Telford Loyalty Card (TLC) Leisure Concession Scheme

To gain concessionary admission, a TLC must be registered at one of our leisure centres. The scheme is available to the groups of Telford and Wrekin residents listed below (except group 2 where concessionary admission is also available to non-residents). A carer accompanying a person in group 2 will be admitted free of charge.

Group 1

People/families in receipt of one or more of the following:

  • council tax benefit
  • healthy start vouchers
  • housing benefit
  • leaving care allowance
  • pension credit.

Group 2

People in receipt of one or more of the following:

  • attendance allowance
  • disability living allowance
  • disabled person's tax credit
  • disability working allowance
  • employment and support allowance
  • industrial disablement
  • mobility allowance
  • personal independence payments
  • severe disablement allowance.

Group 3

People in receipt of:

  • carer's allowance.

Group 4

  • Full time students aged 16 or over.

Group 5

  • Active serving Armed Forces or Veterans.

Group 6

  • Young carers

Concession rates

People in groups 1, 2 and 3 are entitled to a discounted rate of £1 for a swim during public sessions, at least 40% off other non-instructed activities and at least 15% off instructed activities. Concessions are not available on group activities or block bookings.

Please note: concessionary visits may be limited to one per day.
