Stage 2

After building confidence and basic swim skills in Stage 1, our Stage 2 programme develops additional skills and confidence, particularly focused on stability and maintaining the right position in the water.

Our fantastic team of swim instructors will be by your child’s side, every splash of the way – so it’s time to jump in and join Stage 2.

Stage 2 achievements

Before moving onto Stage 3, the swimmers will be able to:

  • jump in from poolside safely
  • blow bubbles a minimum of three times rhythmically with nose and mouth submerged
  • regain an upright position from both the back and front, without support
  • push from wall and glide on the back and on the front
  • travel 10 metres on front and back unaided
  • perform a rotation from both the front to the back and the back to the front to gain an upright position.
